Pine Knoll Landscape & Gift Shop at 143 Lisbon Street, Lisbon, celebrating it’s 10th anniversary, is busy preparing for their annual Christmas Light Show. This year’s show begins on Sat as part of the Open House on Dec.1st & 2nd,, Festivities start at 6pm. The annual light show is preceded by Christmas Carols and is concluded this year with a celebratory ending and the arrival of Santa Claus. After the program everyone is invited for hot chocolate and cookies and the children can visit with Santa. The event, now in it’s fifth year, is Pine Knoll’s gift to the area. What began as a father and sons putting up a few lights and a friend, Dick Waters of J.W. Awning Co., offering to program the lights to music, has developed into an area event.. Creating the display now depends on a crew to install it and hours of programming, not to mention the take down and putting away of the thousands of lights and display props. Pine Knoll’s goal is to bring the joy, caring, and sharing of the season to the young and young at heart. The light show will run through the Christmas Season on weekdays from 6-9:30pm and Saturdays & Sundays from 4:30 to 10pm . So turn your car radio to 88.7 FM and listen to the music and watch the thousands of lights flash to the rhythm. Again this year the show will feature the “Talking Barn”as part of the light show. They also feature a gallery of paintings by local artist Gregory Waters of the “ Grampa Barn Story” which is located inside the gift shop and is open daily during regular hours.. Parking is available across the street or behind Pine Knoll, where a retail Christmas Tree Land of beautiful Fraser and Balsam trees from 2-12ft are arranged in a Maze for the young at heart and Christmas decorations are on display and for sale. They have also created a new outdoor photo area for that photo with the family tree. So bring your family and camara to mark the beginning of the season. Santa will be on hand Saturday and Sunday from 1-3pm for those special photo’s. Pine Knoll is open 10-7pm Dec. 1st & 2nd and 7 days a week through Dec.22 from 10-5pm. So make Pine Knoll one of your Christmas stops. Check out the Maine Crafts , gifts, poinsettias, specialty wreaths, kissing balls, and fresh Maine Trees. You’ll be glad you did. -George Janosco
